Sundarabai Gadekar Kanyashala

It was the only girl school in old Ratnagiri District. Was run by 'Vidyamandir Vengurla' institution, which was subsequently got merged with Vengurla Education Society. The past managing committee closed the school unreasonably. The matter was taken to court, Honorary Court ordered to dissolve managing committee responsible for closure of school and appointed 'Fit Person' to administer the school. But the judiciary process was elongated even after that, so 'Fit Person' could not start the school as per court diction. Last year a new Managing Committee and authorities are elected for Vengurla Education Society and order is brought in.

Highest priority is given to start Kanyashala again. It's also decided that alongwith regular curriculum special courses for girls will also be held in the school. Such as computer training, music, dance, vocational courses etc. Society has repaired and renovated the main building of Kanyashala. However the second building requires complete renovation which will require more funding. New managing committee appeals to all people to take interest and help us to bring back the past glory of school. Please donate generously.

Fund requirements are as follows.

Society has 3 schools under it's responsibility / head.

1) R. K. Patkar high school, Vengurla + R. G. Rege Junior College with technical wing.

2) Dabholi English School, Dabholi

3) R. D. Khanolkar High School, Math

Because of uttermost negligence of past managing committee all school buildings are in bad condition and require urgent repair & maintenance. Fund requirements are as follows.

1) Rs. 25 lakhs for Roof repairs and surplus for R. K. Patkar high school, Vengurla

2) Rs. 10 lakhs for Desks & Benches, as per need in all 3 schools.

3) Rs. 55 lakhs for new updated computer lab, 3 separate labs for schools.

Help in all sorts is welcomed. We sincerely appeal to all the past students of school, now successful in many fields and careers of life, to generously donate for the cause of school. This will greatly help to initiate and speed up the process.
